FAQs

  • It’s pretty simple — submit an inquiry request or email me at talktojeremylee@gmail.com. It usually takes me 24-48 hours to respond and once we’ve gone through discovery and you’re ready to book, I’ll send over a contract for you to review and a request for a 50% deposit. A signed contract and a paid and cleared deposit lock us in for the project. See below to understand what’s usually involved in discovery.

  • Every project and client needs vary quite a bit so I no longer provide a general pricing sheet or rate card. Ultimately, each project comes down to 3 main variables:

    1. Production costs (crew needed, production days including pre-pro and editing, location fees, rentals, prop costs, talent fees, etc…)

    2. Deliverables (number of deliverables, types of deliverables, usage & licensing)

    3. Project scope (basically, how “large” do you want to dream?)

One major consideration I take into account is your budget. A budget serves as a guide for the hired crew, set, project expenses, and how much creative flexibility within the amount.

When I ask for your budget, I’m not trying to see how much I can get you to spend — quite the opposite actually.

My goal is to optimize your budget and get the most bang for your buck! A low budget doesn’t mean I can’t help you, it just means we may have to get really creative with the solution to the problem we’re trying to solve.

  • Inquiry — you have a need or a pain point that could be solved with photo or video and you reach out.

Discovery — we hop on a quick call (or over email if a call isn’t an option) and we explore what type of creative services you’re looking for. I ask questions to get to know you, your brand, and your pain point. I send out a proposal customized to you with a few options varying in scope and costs based on your budget.

Pre-Production — during pre-production, we plan and strategize for the shoot. You can choose to be as hands-on or hands-off during this process as you’d like as long as you are clear with your expectations and can sign off on major decisions and approve major requests that may affect the timeline, budget, deadline, and scope of the project.

We lock in on a shoot date (if not already done during discovery) and I work on producing the shoot by creating a shot list, booking the necessary rentals, locations, models, and props. I’ll also receive and store any products or props from you if we are collaborating remotely.

Shoot Day — game day baby! We execute the ideas and the plans laid out during pre-production. Our timeline and shot list will be the blueprint for the day, however; if time allows, I usually like to leave a bit of space for any spontaneous shots that may come up.

If collaborating remotely, again; you have the choice of being as involved or not as you’d like though I do require that we hop on a kickoff call at the top of the shoot to talk through the shoot. I’ll also share previews as we go for approval and for adjustments along the way.

Delivery — I’ll send a digital contact print of the photos for your selection. Once you’ve placed your order, we’ll edit, retouch, and upload your final deliverables to a custom gallery. Download the entire gallery or specific images in ultra-high resolution for further design or a web resolution for immediate usage.

For video projects, instead of a contact print, I’ll send you a rough cut for feedback and adjustments. The final video will also be uploaded on a custom online gallery for download.

  • A discovery call is simply a call for us to get to know each other and for me to understand the scope of your project. My goal on the discovery call is to understand your goals, pain points, and how photography or video production will help you and your brand.

Below are a few questions I might ask:

    • What are your goals for this shoot?

    • Why do you need this photoshoot?

    • What pain point are you facing that photos/videos may help solve?

    • Where and how are you primarily selling?

    • Where will these photos/videos be used?

    • How many photos/videos do you need?

    • Have you invested in professional photography/video production before?

    • Do you have a deadline for when you need these assets?

    • What is the budget range you hope to stay under for this project?

Coming prepared and honest is integral to keeping the project moving forward and ultimately seeing if we’re the right fit for each other. There are many incredibly talented photographers and cinematographers for you to shop for and I don’t take for granted what it means that you’ve taken the time and effort to go through discovery with me.
