Minneapolis' First Viet Coffee Cart
Caphin MPLS, bringing the taste of Vietnamese coffee to the Twin Cities.
One of the favorite part of my job is highlighting the different businesses and stories. Bonus points if they are BIPOC owned with a big story to tell. What makes Caphin MPLS special is they source all their beans from Da Vat, Vietnam and roast them locally.
The Robusta bean's flavor is rich and packs quite the punch compared to the more common Arabica bean you and I are probably used to drinking. The result is a complex flavor with chocolate notes and also a higher caffeine content - I'm sure most of us can see that as an absolute win.
Additionally, all the drinks play a beautiful balance of honoring traditional Vietnamese dessert flavors while also incorporating flavors like pandan, ube, and matcha. Syrups are made in-house with lots of love and quick bites like the croissant bahn mi almost always sell out on within a few hours of opening.
Fun fact: if you've been to the Minnesota State fair this year and enjoyed a large eggroll on a stick, chances are high that you've also enjoyed their coffee by proxy. I'll leave it at that.
These images were captured to help start building Caphin’s general content library. We spent two separate days capturing a mix of styled menu items in their home kitchen and lifestyle action shots at the Mill City Farmer’s Market, one of Minneapolis’ most popular farmer’s market.
Currently, Caphin MPLS is winding down its first summer season of farmer's markets and outdoor events and have just announced it’s first store front coming later this year! Be sure to check them out on Instagram to stay up to date with their journey!
