My Burger - Flipping Good Burgers
“The messier the better”
I recently got a chance to take a small team to work with My Burger, a 9-location fast-casual restaurant based here in Minneapolis. During our pre-production brief, they told me, “the messier the better.”
I said, “say less”
How did we do?
My Burger - home of flipping good burgers! Naturally, a press, and flip or two made it on the shot list. Kitchen action shots are great for three reasons:
Showcase quality food being made-to-order
Highlight back of house staff who may not get as much camera time as FOH and bartenders
Action action action
Let’s get to drippin’ and dunkin’. These action shots are an easy way to incorporate a human element to the brand. The overly sauced burger, dramatic lettuce garnishing, aioli drips brings the viewer in. It may pain the neat/clean perfectionist but also pulls in a viewer. Lots of audible “oohs” were heard on set after these images.
Simple e-comm styled menu catalog shots to highlight a couple of new evergreen items. These images are shot with online delivery apps and digital menus in mind. These images may feel less daring but need to be true to life for ordering expectations.
Since most My Burger orders are to-go, it was important we incorporate My Burger at home. These were still captured on-location at the My Burger Eden Prairie location. Leslie from The Luxury Shrink, our stylist on set turned parts of the My Burger restaurant into a modern and warm home. A few home-styled props do wonders!
Thanks for checking out this latest campaign work. If you’re ever in the Twin Cities area, be sure to give My Burger a try. The California Double with Sriracha seasoned fries and the strawberry shake are a must.
